Consider the lilies

Lily of the Field began as a simple desire: to write honestly about faith, and to make and share things that point back to Christ.

The name comes from Jesus’ words in the Sermon on the Mount. Pointing to the wildflowers scattered across the hillside, he told the crowd not to be anxious — that the God who dresses the fields in beauty knows their needs and holds their lives. It is a picture of grace: provision we did not earn and cannot manufacture, given freely by a good Father.

“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” — Matthew 6:28–29

What you’ll find here

Writing. Essays and devotionals on scripture, doubt, hope, and the ordinary work of following Jesus. No polish for its own sake — just an attempt to think clearly and faithfully, out loud.
